Klondike Solitaire Rules
Klondike is the most popular form of solitaire. These rules apply to our online game.
Objective
Move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, building each suit from Ace (low) to King (high).
Setup
One standard deck is used. Seven tableau piles are dealt: the first pile gets 1 card, the second 2, and so on up to 7. Only the top card of each pile is face-up. The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile.
Foundation Rules
Each foundation is for one suit (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades). Start with an Ace. Add cards in ascending order: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K. Cards must match the suit of the foundation.
Tableau Rules
Build tableau piles in descending order (K, Q, J, 10…) with alternating colors. A red card goes on a black card, and vice versa. Only a King can be placed in an empty tableau slot. You may move a single card or a valid sequence of cards as a unit.
Stock and Waste
Draw cards from the stock to the waste pile. The top card of the waste can be moved to a foundation or tableau. In our game, you draw one card at a time.
Winning
You win when all four foundations each contain 13 cards in order from Ace to King.
